The casino is on the banks of the Ohio River and is about thirty miles west of Cincinnati. Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg is in the southeastern end of Indiana near the borders with Ohio and Kentucky. It was acquired by Penn National in 2004, who renamed the venue under its Hollywood brand. The venue was originally run by the Argosy Gaming Company and was called the Argosy Casino. The Hollywood Casino has been in operation since 1996.
